NOTICE OF OPEN APPOINTIVE POSITIONS

The Board of County Commissioners is seeking one public-spirited citizen of Churchill County who is willing to serve as a member on the Churchill County Advisory Board to Manage Wildlife for a term that expires July 31, 2026. This committee serves as an advisory board to the Board of County Commissioners and Nevada Wildlife Commission for the management of wildlife. Preference will be given for a person who has a commitment to community service to represent the general public and/or a person who represents the agricultural industry or hunters or trappers in Churchill County.  This is a five-member committee with staggered terms of three years.  

Applications may be obtained at the Churchill County Human Resources Department, 155 No. Taylor St., Suite 155, Fallon, Nevada  89406 or by downloading at:  www.churchillcountynv.gov/advisory. Applications are to be submitted to the Churchill County Human Resources at 155 No. Taylor Street, Suite #177 not later than 3:00 PM on July 28, 2023.

Comment author: Claude EzzellComment text: Paul was one of the most manifest men I have ever met. He was a good friends with my Dad and always had an entertaining story for the occasion. One of my most favorite stories Paul told dated back to the late 60s or early 70s and it revolved around him killing a deer way out in the mountains. Naturally the deer ran down into a deep canyon and died. Knowing that it would take him forever to haul it out he devised an awesome plan. After preparing the deer he drove back to NAS Fallon and rustled up a SAR crew and they flew out and picked up the deer. Of course it was labeled as a training flight but what the hell in those days you could do that sort of thing.
