It's that time of year again, and while the heat might be sweltering, the focus should be on the upcoming annual Cantaloupe Festival and County Fair. Held on the last weekend of August, this event has gained recognition as Nevada's premier agricultural festival and promises to be as exciting as ever. Here's a preview of a couple of the upcoming events:

The Birdman - World Class Bird Show offers a unique and educational wildlife entertainment experience. Since 1982, they have been dedicated to connecting people with the amazing world of animals, with a particular emphasis on birds. The Birdman has presented in all 50 states and five countries, reaching an audience of over one billion people through international television appearances. By utilizing the latest positive reinforcement techniques, they empower animals through training, resulting in educational and entertaining presentations while fostering deep bonds between the trainers and their trainees.
The Birdman's non-industrial approach to animal training allows them to overcome challenges that larger shows may face. Their expertise extends to working with mega-resorts, magic shows, and large-scale film productions, enabling them to quickly design, transport, set up, and perform high-quality flighted bird shows even in smaller venues like the Cantaloupe Festival.
Stay posted for details about the Ned LeDoux performance, scheduled for Saturday night, August 26, at 8 p.m. Make sure to keep an eye out for the Cantaloupe Festival Program guide in The Fallon Post, available on Thursday, August 24.

Formed in 1982, Queensrÿche is an iconic American heavy metal band that has released over 16 albums and sold over 20 million copies worldwide. While they were once compared to Queen, they have established themselves as long-standing performers.
Their fanbase includes followers of Iron Maiden, Guns N' Roses, Metallica, Judas Priest, and Def Leppard. With 11 gold and platinum plaques and a repertoire of hard rock anthems, Queensrÿche has become an integral part of the heavy metal genre. They describe themselves as experiencing a jaw-dropping creative resurgence and recently released their latest album, “Digital Noise Alliance,” in 2022.
Queensrÿche will be taking the stage on Friday evening, August 25, with doors opening at 5 p.m. and the concert starting at 6 p.m.
