Greenwave Hall of Fame Time

Nominations Accepted through May 31
Greenwave Hall of Fame Time

“The Greenwave Hall of Fame is organized as a means of recognizing the many individuals who have made extraordinary contributions and have had superb accomplishments within Churchill County. The Greenwave Hall of Fame honors the contributions and accomplishments of these individuals who are worthy of this recognition as examples for others to emulate.” This is the mission statement of Fallon’s Greenwave Hall of Fame Committee.

It all began six years ago when the late Paul Orong, a Churchill County High School track coach, Lahontan Valley News Editor Steve Ranson, sports reporter Thomas Ranson and contributor John Dirickson organized a committee turning years of talk into the creation of the GHOF. Local businesses and several individuals assisted with bringing the idea into being to honor Fallon’s celebrated sports programs.

Since that time, four classes have been inducted into the GHOF, with the fourth class containing combined years due to covid restrictions.

The first GHOF committee was led by Orong, who oversaw the first induction ceremony in 2017. The ceremony included more than 100 athletes with the Director of the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association Donnie Nelson delivering the keynote address.

Since that time, retired Principal Judy Pratt has chaired the committee, and Steve Heck currently holds the position of GHOF President.

Nominations are being accepted until May 31 for the Class of 2023’s stars. Nomination forms are located at https://greenwavehof.com for the four categories of team, athlete, coach, and supporter. Applications received late will be held for the 2024 nominations.

Nominators are requested to completely answer each question with details and supplemental materials. Nomination forms with incomplete answers will be rejected with the nominator requested to complete and resubmit.

Once the application packet is complete, it should be emailed to [email protected] or mailed to Greenwave Hall of Fame 2040 Reno Hwy Box 217 Fallon, NV 89406 in time to be received before May 31.

The date for this year’s induction will not be determined until the 2023 football schedule comes out later this spring.

Who and what they REALLY were. Because they were devotional and IMPORTANT to the humans they connected with. The content of their life bled so that others could feel their own life’s importance. Teachers of justifiable life and art. That all can absorb and use as the best fertilizer for THEIR lives. Giving the silent secrets and the loud guidance. The Melon Man was a perfect specimen for how to devote. His passing meant a life book of feeling/knowing what gives other humans their paths to Love and Knowledge. Some humans are meant to show others their paths. And in that they secrete ways to profitably exist.Comment publication date: 3/18/26, 4:50 PMComment source: In memorium -- The Melon Man
