Obituary - Harold Lloyd Gerulf
Harold Gerulf

Harold Lloyd Gerulf, 83, of Gabbs, NV passed away with his family by his side on March 17, 2023. Lloyd was born April 12, 1939, in Pocatello, Idaho to Andre and Alice Gerulf. He joined the Marine Corp. in 1957 and was discharged due to a service-related injury in 1963.

On March 15, 1968, he met Delora Keyes in Columbia Falls, Montana. They married and had three children: Rebecca, Linda and Steven. The family lived for many years in Montana, where Lloyd worked as a logger and mechanic. In 1987, they moved to Gabbs, where Lloyd worked at the mine and for Ray and Hazel Dummar. He loved spending time with his family and building wood mechanical models. It was not unusual for him and Delora to break out the miniature marshmallows to play with his trebuchet and cannon. He also loved the Gabbs community and was president of the Gabbs Senior Organization.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, brothers James, Andre and Forest and sisters Patty Ann, Alice Joyce and Lillian.

He is survived by his loving wife Delora, son Steven Gerulf (Tonopah, NV), daughters Rebecca (Mark) Jones (Denver, CO) and Linda Raymond (Gabbs, NV), grandchildren Rick Gerulf, KC Jones, Aeryn Jones, April Stewart and Haley Hansen, great-grandchildren Gaberiel Noel, Rosalie Stewart and Ravan Stewart, sister Karon Tiller and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held at the Gabbs Senior Center in Gabbs, NV on April 1, 2023, at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Veterans Guest House in Reno, NV.

My papa (great-grandfather) was one of the greatest men on earth; he deserves the title of my father. He practically raised me until he died.

They strung them along for years until they had no financial choice but to accept and get out. My Dad even hauled water for the Snow ranch trying to stay afloat. May God bless you all. I truly pray it works out for you.Comment publication date: 3/28/26, 9:22 PMComment source: Local Rancher Says Navy Land Expansion is Devastating His Family RanchComment author: Lynn JohnsonComment text: I remember your mother well; she was a lovely and kind woman. I see glimpses of your face in the years worn onto my dad. It makes me feel more connected to you in some way. I remember the familiar kindness from you that I know in my dad. I would’ve really liked to have a good conversation. I only have a handful of memories with you, but you were loving, and you were kind. I wish I was able to say more. If I am someone to you, I hope I make you proud. Thank you Aunt for this sweet post.Comment publication date: 3/27/26, 12:11 AMComment source: Obituary -- Randolph Floris Banovich C Comment author: RBCComment text: The Navy should reimburse the market cost of replacing the grazing land they are taking.
