Katherine Loraine Stambaugh was born on January 15, 1936, to Paul and Iva McKee. She returned home to the Lord on the morning of February 14th, 2023. Kathy was a light and encouragement to everyone she touched – as a wife and mom, in her work as a nurse, and in her ministry with CareNet. Kathy also served in the Army with the WACs before she married the love of her life. She will be greatly missed, but there is comfort in knowing her happiness and peace for eternity.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Iva; her young children, Clifford Tobias and Rebecca JoAnn; siblings Lyla Carroll, Geraldine Kreps, Ivan McKee, Ruth Lavonne Cimburek; and her loving husband, James Theodore Stambaugh, Jr.
She is survived by her sister Janet Jewel Magnuson of Forks, WA; her daughters, Robin Stambaugh of Henderson NV, Barbara Rutledge of Loma Linda CA, and Sarah (Gene) Hurley of Fallon NV, and by multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and church family.
A public memorial will be held on Friday, February 24th at 3 pm at Parkside Bible Fellowship. A burial service will be held on March 11th at 1 pm at Otterbein Cemetery in Thayer, IA. The family requests that donations in lieu of flowers be made to the Pregnancy Care Clinic of Fallon, NV in memory of Kathy and her love and passion for women and children.
