Lolia Austin

Lolia Edna Austin, 82, of Fallon, Nevada passed away peacefully on February 5, 2023. Lolia was born to Casey Birchim and Irene Jimmy. She was raised in Hawthorne, NV but spent a lot of her time at Reese River.

Lolia graduated from Lander County High School in Austin, NV. She met the love of her life Donald Austin in Fallon, NV. They were married and went on to raise four children, Rodney, Roger, Audrey, and Terri. Their hobbies included fishing, hunting, horseback riding, and exploring the Nevada mountains.

Lolia had a great love for her family, which included aunts, uncles, and her many cousins, many nieces, and nephews, and of course her siblings, Calvin and Edison Birchem Sr.; Raymond Birchim; Lyda Belzer; Pearl Birchim; and Laverne Butler. Lolia had many grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, and she took pride in every one of them.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Calvin, Edison, Lyda, and Pearl; daughter Terri Austin and husband, Donald.

A viewing will be at The Gardens Funeral Home, 2949 Austin Highway on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at 10 a.m. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m., with a potluck to follow the service at the Fallon Paiute Shoshone Tribal Gym, 8955 Mission Road.

Arrangements are under the direction of The Gardens Funeral Home, 2949 Austin Highway, 775-423-8928.

They strung them along for years until they had no financial choice but to accept and get out. My Dad even hauled water for the Snow ranch trying to stay afloat. May God bless you all.
