Obituary -- Robert L. Bender
Robert L. Bender (Bob, Pappy) Born: June 10, 1955 -- Died: May 2, 2019 Born and raised in Portland, Oregon.  In June of 1973 he joined the Army and left for basic training in Fort Ord, CA.  After basic, he returned to Portland before reporting to Ft. Lewis, WA. In August of 1973 he married his wife of 45 years Debra.  He finished his Army career in March 1980.  In September of 1980 he joined the Navy and continued with his military career until May of 1995 when he retired.  He then transitioned to working for government contractors at NAS Fallon. He was preceded in death by son Jason and his twin sister Nancy.  He is survived by his wife Debra, son Eric and his wife Andrea (grandkids Madisyn and Lincoln), son Nicholas, and his sisters Brenda, Vicki, and Evelyn.  He will truly be missed by all his family and friends, maybe even his enemies.   Support local, independent news – contribute to The Fallon Post, your non-profit (501c3) online news source for all things Fallon.
