Frances Hicks Christy age 84, passed away peacefully at her home on February 2nd, 2023 in Fallon, Nevada.
She was born September 12, 1938, to Archie Hicks and Gladys Johnson in Ely, Nevada, and was a member of the Fallon Paiute Shoshone Tribe. She enjoyed going to powwows, watching her grandkids compete in various sporting events, and having big family gatherings. Her greatest love was her grandchildren.
Frances is survived by her longtime companion Joe Moose Jr, her children Debra Hooper (Bryan), Mary Christy, Grace Christy Sampson, George Christy (Cheryl), Stanford Christy (Lisa), Frank Hicks, Jeff Hicks, Holly, sister Erma Garvey of New York, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, many nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog Naingis.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Ronny Hicks, and sisters Donna Conway, Irene Hicks, and Marion Christianson.
Services will be held at the FPST Tribal Gym on February 11th at 1:00 p.m., with a viewing at 12:00. Graveside services will follow at the Fallon Tribal Cemetery. A potluck will be held following services, food donations are appreciated.
