Dell “Jugger” Steve passed away peacefully at home on December 31, 2022. He was born on February 8, 1932, at home on the Fallon Paiute-Shoshone Reservation. He attended Churchill County Schools and graduated in 1950.
Dell was an athlete lettering in baseball, basketball, football, and boxing for which in 2018 was inducted into the CCHS Greenwave Hall of Fame. After he graduated, he served in the Marines and fought in Korea from 1950 to 1954. After returning to Fallon, he married Geraldine Graham and spent the rest of his life as a farmer/rancher. He also served as Chairman of the Fallon Tribe in the 1960s and 70s.
Dell was preceded in death by his parents Willie and Maggie Steve, brothers Billy, Geno & Russell, sister Innabelle Stireneman, wife Geraldine Graham Steve, daughter Cheryl Steve, and grandson Bodie Steve.
He is survived by son Willie Steve (Gina), daughters Vicki Steve, Deana Fillmore, Leslie Steve and Terri Steve, as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be held on February 8, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at The Gardens followed by a military burial at the Fallon Cemetery.
