Obituary - David Burl Moore

Obituary - David Burl Moore
David Burl Moore

David Burl Moore was born in Burley, Idaho on September 6, 1957, to Burl Moore and Betty Galtz Moore. He spent time as a child in Oklahoma before returning to Idaho Falls, Idaho. In about 1981 he was living in Gabbs, NV, and then settled in Fallon, Nevada until his death.

David had one child, Daniel Hager while living in Idaho and then met Pam Bliss Moore in 1982 and they married in September 1985. They had three children, David Kyle Moore, Kelsey Jordan Moore, and Kendyl Sharee Moore Green. David had 14 grandchildren and one more on the way.

David loved to rope, hunt, and take his kids and then grandchildren to rodeos around the state. His final wishes were to make sure his grandkids got to rodeos. He spent a lot of time roping with family members and friends, branding cattle, camping, or hunting in the state he loved and chose to live in. David worked in the construction industry for Hiskett & Sons, JD Jensen Construction, JQ Construction, and A & K Earth Movers, his final place of employment.

David lost his short battle with cancer in Salt Lake City, Utah on December 24, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jake and Marty Moore, sister and brother-in-law Mary and Ed Schenck, mother-in-law Delores McCart, brother-in-law/best friend Jessy B. McEwen, and grandson, Kannon Butterbredt.

David is survived by Pam Moore, Kyle Moore, Kelsey Moore, Kendyl (Keith) Green, Daniel Hager, grandchildren Jeremiah Sowden, William Cross, Rylee Schroeder, Khloee Rodriguez, Brynnlee Moore, Kestin Moore, Kinlee & Kyllea Butterbredt, Gabriel & Grayson Martinez, and Kayzen Green, as well as numerous other family members, including two special nephews, Adam Schenck and Jake McEwen.

Services will be held at the Barrel House (formerly Multipurpose Building) at 225 Sheckler Road, Fallon, NV on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. Casual and western wear is appropriate. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Fallon Junior Rodeo, 5499 Casey Road, Fallon, NV  89406, or at Nevada State Bank, Account 984689810.

They strung them along for years until they had no financial choice but to accept and get out. My Dad even hauled water for the Snow ranch trying to stay afloat. May God bless you all. I truly pray it works out for you.Comment publication date: 3/28/26, 9:22 PMComment source: Local Rancher Says Navy Land Expansion is Devastating His Family RanchComment author: Lynn JohnsonComment text: I remember your mother well; she was a lovely and kind woman. I see glimpses of your face in the years worn onto my dad. It makes me feel more connected to you in some way. I remember the familiar kindness from you that I know in my dad. I would’ve really liked to have a good conversation. I only have a handful of memories with you, but you were loving, and you were kind. I wish I was able to say more. If I am someone to you, I hope I make you proud. Thank you Aunt for this sweet post.Comment publication date: 3/27/26, 12:11 AMComment source: Obituary -- Randolph Floris Banovich C Comment author: RBCComment text: The Navy should reimburse the market cost of replacing the grazing land they are taking.
