Chickens, local food, beautiful quilts, cooking demonstrations, dancing, massage, and did I mention chickens? The 19th annual Soroptimist Home & Garden Show was a rousing success and a great experience for many local organizations and businesses. Held at the Fallon Convention Center this past weekend, and featuring over 40 vendors, the Home & Garden Show provides and opportunity for the community to sample, taste, pummel, and learn about the many opportunities there are in Fallon for entertainment, business, and education. Soroptimists International of Fallon has held the Home & Garden Show for the past 19 years as a fundraiser for their programs that focus on providing scholarships, education, and support for other women's programs. The Fallon Post was able to have a booth at the show, collect email addresses from attendees, and visit with several hundred people about the paper. We also held a drawing for several raffle prizes and the winners are: Advertisement in The Fallon Post -- Sherri White Two movie tickets and treats to the Fallon Theatre -- Nancy Balash Four tickets to the Rattlesnake Raceway -- Jessie Kroshus Autographed photo of Harvey Dahl, Atlanta Falcons -- Brandee Brown Professional head shot from Howieloo Photography -- Delayne Lemon Summer gardening basket Kent's Supply -- Anne Brown We are grateful to our advertisers for their contributions to the raffle and would like to thank them for their support, as well as everyone who stopped by the booth and gave us their input.
