Carol’s Book Report

“Number One-Walking” By Steve Martin
Carol’s Book Report

This is a brief biography of Steve Martin told through drawings by Harry Bliss.

He tells some funny stories like the one about the f-bomb scene in Planes, Trains and Automobiles which is classic, but they shot a cleaned up version in case the it wouldn’t pass the rating review board which in 1987 was much stricter than it is now.

He talks about working with children, his dislike of a certain talk show host, and his experience playing a sadistic dentist in not one, but two movies. And then a bunch of one box cartoons.

It’s a funny little book and I’m guessing he and Harry had a great time putting it together.

This title is available in print at the Library.

Carol is the Director of the Churchill County Library. She saw Steve Martin years ago at the Allentown Fair in Pennsylvania when he was performing the arrow in the head routine.
