Commentary -- Vote!

Be Sure to Vote

I don’t like early voting but confess that I did. Convenient you know. We should all go vote on one day even though we stand in line but are able to enjoy the society of other voters.

It is very important for a big turnout from the rural counties (what we used to call the Cow Counties –remember?) because we mostly vote the right way. Some Democrats may not agree.

Las Vegas and some of Reno may vote the wrong way. It’s been known to happen.

I don’t like the idea of racial demographics although the experts seem to think it is a reality. But I have thought for several months that if the Hispanic folks in Las Vegas notice their family values, the heritage of God, and education, along with the effect of inflation, and the Black voters from North Las Vegas notice the same things, then some of them may vote the same way the Mormons usually do. This same thing could happen in Reno. The parents may think voting could help keep their children from becoming criminals and gangsters or sexualized in the fourth grade.

If this voting actually happens in our two big cities, it will be good, but not enough to carry the election. The point is even though the rurals vote for what this country needs, the turnout needs to be huge to carry the election statewide. Vote; herein fail not.

We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
