Nick, I want you to know you were one of the best dudes I knew growing up. It was fun playing music and causing mischief in our little circle of friends. You were one of the people who helped me out of my shell as a kid and I thank you for that. You are with God now and without pain and sadness. We will see you when we get there and I want you to know you were a great person and I know for sure you will be missed as you already are my friend. Take care and I really hope to see you again, Love you bro and always will.

Nick your wit and wicked sense of humor will be greatly missed. I only wish you could have broken down advice to yourself the same as you gave to others. Our world gets harder on a daily and another light has left and made it a bit darker. My love, thoughts, prayers to his family and those friends who became family.

The memories remain of a soft-spoken, seemingly unassuming but determined individual who absolutely knew what path she wanted to take in life, and followed it. Her instinctive reactions, which highlighted her steadfast level of love and caring for her family, friends and all living things found in nature, hold lessons for us all. An unexpected splash of her self-deprecating humor, coupled with uncanny timing, will always bring a smile. For me, Marie lives on in the sighting of a Black-crowned night heron in the tules, the bloom of a beautiful spring flower and, most poetically, in the struggle of wildlife photographers handling their very large camera lenses.
