Leo Flores

Leonides (Leo) J. Flores Jr. passed away in Fallon, Nevada on Friday, September 23, with his family by his side. He was born in Raton, New Mexico on December 8, 1937, to Leonides J. Flores Sr. and Beatrice Dominguez Flores. He was the second of 10 children. Both of his parents, one sister, and one brother preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Elda Maestas Flores, two brothers and five sisters, daughter Yvonne (Dustin) Bivens, son Greg Flores, grandchildren Sierra and Justin Bivens, and many nieces and nephews

Leo attended the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Upon graduation, he spent two years in the United State Army followed by a job at White Sands Missile Range in Las Cruces, New Mexico. However, he spent most of his life living and raising his family in Las Vegas, Nevada while he was employed for 32 years by Reynolds Electrical & Engineering Co., Inc. - a Department of Defense contractor. After retiring, he and his wife Elda moved to Fallon, Nevada to be near their grandchildren. They also enjoyed traveling and went on several cruises during their retirement.

Leo’s final resting place will be the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley, Nevada. Services will be held on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at 11:30 am.
