Movies & More - At the Historic Fallon Theatre

Fallon Theatre is proud to present this Friday evening, August 12th, at 7:00 PM a Tahoe Chamber Music Society performance featuring Dustin Budish playing the viola and Eileen Brownell on cello. Please join us for this great musical event on our historic stage. This event is FREE.

Saturday evening our movies are back. Starting at 6:00 we will be playing the original 1978 superhero film SUPERMAN based on the character from DC Comics. An alien orphan is sent from his dying planet to Earth, where he grows up to become his adoptive home's first and greatest superhero. Starring Christopher Reeve, Marlon Brando, Gene Hackman, Ned Beatty and Margot Kidder. Our 6:30 feature that evening is the 1992 comedy-drama directed by Penny Marshall - A LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN. This film tells a fictionalized account of the real-life All-American Girls Professional Baseball League which was started as WWII threatens to shut down Major League Baseball. Starring Geena Davis, Tom Hanks, Madonna, Rosie O'Donnell and Jon Lovitz.

Also, mark your calendars for Friday, August 19th as THE GREAT BASIN BAND takes our stage in conjunction with Fallon's Community Reunion. Music starts at 7:00 and this is a FREE EVENT. And please check your mailbox for the chance to become a part of a fantastic, community project. Your letter and options for helping are “in the mail.”

We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
