Books, Bites, and Beverages: A Literary Adventure is back.

Books, Bites, and Beverages: A Literary Adventure is back.

The popular Churchill County Library Association-sponsored fundraiser has been on hiatus for a couple of years. Now it is time to bring your wallets back to the library for a wonderful evening of literary escapades. The evening will include wine, refreshments, and a great time.

Raffle baskets accompany each literary-themed table. Raffle tickets are $5 each or 6 for $25, the Wine Pull tickets are $20 to allow participation if you can’t attend.

The fun starts on Friday, August 5 at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are available early at the library or at the door before the event for $30, with all proceeds benefiting the library.

The library is located at 553 South Maine Street in Fallon. For more information check out www.churchillcountylibrary.org or contact Carol Lloyd, Director, at (775) 423-7581, ext 6 or

Comment author: Patti Cole Comment text: Marie will be forever treasured in memories. The memories remain of a soft-spoken, seemingly unassuming but determined individual who absolutely knew what path she wanted to take in life, and followed it. Her instinctive reactions, which highlighted her steadfast level of love and caring for her family, friends and all living things found in nature, hold lessons for us all. An unexpected splash of her self-deprecating humor, coupled with uncanny timing, will always bring a smile. For me, Marie lives on in the sighting of a Black-crowned night heron in the tules, the bloom of a beautiful spring flower and, most poetically, in the struggle of wildlife photographers handling their very large camera lenses. Her dad Ted was my dad's brother. I never knew Ted or Betty, but I wish I did. I am 73 and live in IL. I am building my family tree and see where Betty has fit in. Blessings to you Curt and family.
