Kathleen Marian Avery Thomas was born to Vera and Dan Avery, Junior on October 16, 1954, in Carson City, Nevada. She attended Churchill County schools, graduating with the class of 1972, and married her high school sweetheart, Wayne Thomas in September of that year.
In the early years of their marriage, she worked alongside Wayne while raising her two sons. She loved gathering with her family and treasured that time.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Colleen Avery, Diann Kucharek, Linda Dempsey, and grandson Justin Mann.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Wayne; son Eric and wife Lisa, son Chris and wife Jessica, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; her brother Stuart Avery and sister Michele Berney and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held Tuesday, April 12th at 4 p.m. at The Gardens.
