Obituary – Larry Kyte
Larry Kyte

Larry Kyte, long-time resident of Fallon, passed away March 5, 2022, in Reno. Larry was born April 28, 1934, in Rigby Idaho to Edward and Lillian Kyte. The family moved to Southern, Ca. when Larry was eight. Fast forward … After graduating high school he started dating Kidley, and then life was put on hold for a time as he was drafted into the Army. Kidley and Larry married on January 19, 1957.

In 1963 they bought a ranch and moved to Fallon, raising cattle and living their dream.

Larry was a rancher, husband, father and grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a man of his word and so very humble. He always had a good joke to tell and if you asked Larry what his hobby was he’d tell you, “Working our ranch.”

He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother; his wife, Kidley; and son, Ed Kyte.

Larry is survived by his son, Larry C. Kyte; daughter and son-in-law Linda and Wyatt Watson; daughter, Michelle Kyte; daughter-in-law, Julie Kyte; grandchildren, Joshua Watson, Danielle Watson, Rashell Rush, Wesley Kyte, Lindsey Shokouhi, Jake Kyte, Buster Kyte; great-grandchild, Lily Rush; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Rosary will be said on Sunday, March 13, 2022, at 4 p.m. at The Gardens Funeral Home. Burial will be private at The Gardens. A Celebration of Larry’s life will be held at a later date to be announced.

Arrangements are under the direction of The Gardens Funeral Home, 2949 Austin Highway Fallon, NV. 89406, 775-423-8928.

Larry used to tell the story of the day in 1963 when they were driving up 395 moving to Fallon. It was the day Kennedy was shot, and he said that pulled the car over and listened on the radio. He was a good man, a wonderful cow man. I appreciate knowing him. Condolences to his family.

C Comment author: Carl C. HagenComment text: What are MFNs and PBMs ?? ............................ From the editor: This is a very good question and we apologize for not catching that wasn't in there. We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITORComment author: Debra J RidenourComment text: So sorry for your loss.
