Kelly Frost, City Councilwoman files for re-election on MOnday

Author: Rachel Dahl

Incumbent City Councilwoman Kelly Frost filed for reelection Monday morning.  Frost has served on the City Council since March of 2014.  During her tenure on the Council, she has seen the opening of the Pennington Life Center and the new Pennington Fallon Youth Club building, the completion of the Front Street Project and the fifth phase of the Maine Street Beautification Project, as well as improvements at the Fallon Municipal Airport and in the City’s Electrical system.

As a member of the Council, Frost serves as Mayor Pro-tem, Chairs the Fallon Convention and Tourism Authority, and serves as Vice-Chair of the Churchill Entrepreneur Development Association Board of Directors.  She is a member of the Churchill Fallon Economic Development Board, Western Nevada Development District, Debt Management Commission, and the Domestic Violence Task Force.

Frost was born in Fallon, graduating from Churchill County High School.  She graduated from the University of Nevada Reno with a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and returned to school to become certified to teach.  She taught two years in Battle Mountain and then worked at her parents’ convenience store, learning about the challenges small businesses face.  Frost returned to education and spent 26 years teaching government at Churchill County High School, retiring in 2018.  She is married to Russ Frost, and they have three children, Dawson, Allison, and Samantha who are all attending the University of Nevada Reno.

From the editor: This is a very good question and we apologize for not catching that wasn't in there. We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITORComment author: Debra J RidenourComment text: So sorry for your loss.
