The Overland Hotel -- an Update and Clarification

The Overland Hotel -- an Update and Clarification

Author: Cassie Harrison

It has come to our attention at The Fallon Post that the information we were given regarding the purchase of the Overland Hotel by the Church of the Nazarene in our story last week about Out of Egypt Food Pantry was not accurate.

The Overland Hotel is still owned by Dave Barkeley, according to Kelly Nickell, manager of the Overland. After speaking at length with Pastor Jonathan Velasquez, we will be doing a follow up story on Out of Egypt and their activities. Although members of the church did tour the Overland last week to look at possibilities, no decisions have been made and they did not purchase the building.

We regret our part in this misunderstanding and we regret having published faulty information. It is our ultimate mission to provide timely, accurate information to the community. We appreciate very much all communication that helps us adhere to the standard and we will always standby to update, clarify, and fix any information that may be wrong or incomplete.

His mother, father, Karen and Trent were neighbors of ours in Tonopah, Nevada. We moved to Fallon first and then the Kroll's later moved there also. Mother and Wanda were good friends. My brother Michael and Trent were playmates in Tonopah. Mother and my three little children visited the family at their ranch in Fallon. My condolences to Frank's family. May you be comforted to know that I care and I pray you will be comforted by your memories of Frank. Sincerely,Comment publication date: 4/30/26, 11:51 AMComment source: Frank Robert Kroll
