The William N. Pennington Life Center has been determined to be in a current COVID-19 outbreak with more than two positive cases and an inability to identify all contacts.

Effective Friday, November 19, the Life Center will be closed for all indoor activities and meals. To ensure patrons receive nutritious meals and access to food, hot meals will be provided via drive-through from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday – Friday, excluding Thanksgiving. The indoor closure will be in effect November 19 through December 3, with all activities resuming on Monday, December 6.

Anyone who is unvaccinated and was at the Life Center between November 11 and 18 is urged to quarantine and test on the sixth day after your last visit to the center. If you are vaccinated and start to have symptoms you are urged to get tested. If you have any questions regarding testing, quarantine, or symptoms, please call the Churchill County Public Health Department at (775)423-6695, option 2.

Comment author: Claude EzzellComment text: Paul was one of the most manifest men I have ever met. He was a good friends with my Dad and always had an entertaining story for the occasion. One of my most favorite stories Paul told dated back to the late 60s or early 70s and it revolved around him killing a deer way out in the mountains. Naturally the deer ran down into a deep canyon and died. Knowing that it would take him forever to haul it out he devised an awesome plan. After preparing the deer he drove back to NAS Fallon and rustled up a SAR crew and they flew out and picked up the deer. Of course it was labeled as a training flight but what the hell in those days you could do that sort of thing.
