There's an app for that -- Churchill County Sheriff Gets in on the Action

Author: File photo

The Churchill County Sheriff's Office has been working with a company called Cordico to develop an app. specific to our agency and the community we serve. This app will allow us to provide Department Links, relay Safety and Crime Prevention Tips, meaningful quotes, and a Gallery of photos of our agency (still getting pictures put in there bear with us).

The job of a Law Enforcement Officer or Dispatcher is a stressful one and I can’t imagine being the spouse of one can be stress-free or easy either as they worried about your loved one and if they are safe. This app will provide resources for our department members and their spouse, which include links to chaplains, mental health, stress reduction, resiliency along with information about healthy eating habits, exercise, and sleep patterns.

The app can be found in the App Store under the name Churchill County Sheriff's Office and is available for both iPhones and Android-based phone operating systems.

We were blessed to have the talented photographer Barb Swetzof Lund grant us permission to use some of her pictures for this app, a huge shout out of thanks to her for this.

We will still be utilizing Facebook to relay information, updates, thoughts, and relevant information regarding community events and law enforcement actions within our community. This will just be one more way for the community to be able to connect with your Sheriff’s Office.

Please check out the app and download it to review the crime prevention tips and resources. This app will be a great resource for both the community as well as our agency. The health and welfare of the Deputies, their relationships, and their families is paramount to having a strong healthy Department to serve this community and its visitors.

We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
