by Carol Lloyd --
Determined to prove his worth, a half-Paiute, half-Irish ranch hand from Tonopah who was abandoned by his parents, leaves his aging guardians to become a champion boxer before matches organized in Mexico and Las Vegas lead to his realization that he cannot change his identity or outrun his destiny. Vlautin’s writings and descriptions of Nevada are beautiful.
Willy Vlautin will be at the Churchill Arts Council to read and discuss his book on Saturday March 23 from 5:00-7:00pm. The reading begins at 5:30pm. The Churchill Arts Council is located at 151 East Park Street, Fallon NV. This event is sponsored in part by the Churchill Library Association.

Comment text: September 11, article Civics 101
I would like to commend Rachael Dahl and the Fallon post for their article. Civics 101. This is a reminder that we as citizens live in a representative form of government and why it is so important that we vote as voting is our way of making our voice heard.

Comment text: Knew Sis from the B of A as a teller and in social gatherings around Fallon. When we bought our land in Kingston, Sis regaled us with her stories of gatherings at the old restaurant & bar on the way to Groves lake. Sis often said, 'What happens in Kingston stays in Kingston!' Fun & funny lady.

Comment text: So sorry for the pain your family is suffering. She is in comfort of Jesus arms. This is Ruth Fiege, Gary's cousin from WI.
I can't begin to imagine the pain your family is suffering. So much comfort in knowing she and baby are with Jesus.
God Bless you all during this tragedy. Love, Ruth Fiege
