Local Government Meetings and Events this Week
The following local governements and committees will meet this week: Fallon City Council, Monday, 3/18 at 9:00 a.m. at the City Council Chambers 55 W. Williams Avenue. TCID Board of Directors will meet in a Special Session Board Meeting in Fernley on March 19th at 6:00 p.m. The agenda is available here. Board of Regional Transportation Commission will meet on Wednesday, 3/20 at 9:30 a.m. The agenda is available here. Churchill County Commission will meet on Wednesday, 3/20 at 1:15 p.m. Agenda can be viewed here.viewed here. The Fallon Chamber luncheon will be on Thursday, 3/21 at noon at the Stockman’s Casino with Kelly Robins of New Millenium speaking. RSVP to 423-2544. Churchill County School District Budget Committee Meeting will meet on 3/21 at 4:00 p.m. The agenda is available here. Governor’s Office of Economic Development will meet in Carson City at the Capitol Building on March 21st at 1:00 p.m. There will also be Parent/Teacher Conferences this week with early release days for elementary schools will be March 20-22nd with student dismissal at 12:30 p.m. each day. Lahontan, E.C. Best, and Numa Elementary parents should schedule a meeting time with their students’ teacher. CCMS parents can schedule appointments to meet with their students’ teachers on Thursday and Friday from 1:15 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. and there will be an open house session at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday evening, March 21st. Parents of High School students can drop-in to meet with teachers on Thursday or Friday from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.  Early release for CCMS and CCHS will be March 21-22 at 12:30 p.m.

Comment author: Claude EzzellComment text: Paul was one of the most manifest men I have ever met. He was a good friends with my Dad and always had an entertaining story for the occasion. One of my most favorite stories Paul told dated back to the late 60s or early 70s and it revolved around him killing a deer way out in the mountains. Naturally the deer ran down into a deep canyon and died. Knowing that it would take him forever to haul it out he devised an awesome plan. After preparing the deer he drove back to NAS Fallon and rustled up a SAR crew and they flew out and picked up the deer. Of course it was labeled as a training flight but what the hell in those days you could do that sort of thing.
