Eddie Murphy has slowly been making his way back into the land of Hollywood. Before much of the entertainment industry froze in time from COVID lockdowns, Murphy hosted Saturday Night Live, which he had not been back to since 1984. He made Dolemite is my Name for Netflix, and now got the old gang together to make the sequel Coming 2 America. While Beverley Hills Cop may be one of my top ten films, I would be terribly concerned if any form of reboot were to come along. While I had the same fears with this sequel, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of humor and story in Murphy’s newest project. This movie is a great re-entrance into movies on Murphy's part, and while it is not my favorite work of his... it is worth the watch.
