Ashby Trotter takes 7th at National Competition

Ashby Trotter competed yesterday in the VFW "Voice of Democracy" Speech and Essay Contest in Washington D.C., earning a 7th place finish. Ashby received a $4,000 scholarship for her efforts and a new laptop computer.
There were 53 total candidates who competed in this nationwide contest over the weekend, including U.S. Citizens livng in Europe, Panama, and the Pacific Islands Area.
Ashby won the local Veterans of Foreign Wars contest earlier this year, advancing to the state competition where she won top honors and earned a spot to this national level competition.

Comment text: We called the cops on this kid SEVERAL times when he was not even a teenager. The Churchill sheriff kept letting him off. I remember telling him that if he didn’t hold him accountable then, he’d wind up in prison. I was right
