Among the top-five of my favorite television creations is an eight-season series called Psych. First airing in 2006, the show follows two friends as they become a private detective agency that assists the Santa Barbara Police Department. Oh yes, and one of them is psychic. James Roday Rodriguez (A Million Little Things) is a psychic funnyman who drags his friend Burton Guster, played by Dule Hill (The West Wing), onto many a murder scene.
This show has always been a favorite of mine because of the written and visual craft. While the show is another buddy-cop creation, the jokes and endless cultural references take the show to another level for some audiences. At the same time, no one feels left behind if they missed or do not understand a solid reference to Police Academy or Alfred Hitchcock movies. The creators and crew of the series are such fans of other shows and films that they parody and recreate many genres, while respecting the craft and giving a great homage to many of them. Every time I return to the series, it is as fresh and funny as ever, while also having great and interesting mysteries to solve along the way.

Comment text: A little disappointed in the parade and fireworks. With it being America's 250th Birthday, there should have been some more history, as in pioneers walking behind wagons.....etc. And as for fireworks, should have been more spectacular, like seeing hearts, and smiling faces and an American flag all dine in fire works.
