Boxing Day Reviews -- Bill Murray & Jan Vogler

Music to listen to between Christmas and New Year's
Boxing Day Reviews -- Bill Murray & Jan Vogler

One of my favorite things to enjoy after the holidays is listening to Bill Murray and world-renowned cellist Jan Vogler. Luckily, they teamed up for the album New Worlds.Bill Murray is known for picking projects that many would not expect of him. While this album is no different, I will say – who knew he could carry a tune?New World first dropped in 2017 and uses multiple music mediums. While the album includes a few classical songs from composers like Bach, the overall sound is transformed by Murray's voice and Vogler on the cello. The song list takes a unique turn into film themes like “Moon River”, that play as a backdrop to Murray reciting excerpts from “Adventures of Huckleberry Finn”. Finally, the album takes another hard turn into Broadway show tunes from the likes of “West Side Story” and “Porgy and Bess”.This album is always a thrill for me to listen to after the holidays because it feels like attending the theater while on winter vacation, but within the comfort of my own home... and it has Bill Murray in it!

I honestly can’t believe you are gone…..you were a wonderful human being, with a HUGE heart and soul. Hearing this makes my heart break! You are forever in our hearts, and I can say I feel blessed that I was able to know you! Who and what they REALLY were. Because they were devotional and IMPORTANT to the humans they connected with. The content of their life bled so that others could feel their own life’s importance. Teachers of justifiable life and art. That all can absorb and use as the best fertilizer for THEIR lives. Giving the silent secrets and the loud guidance. The Melon Man was a perfect specimen for how to devote. His passing meant a life book of feeling/knowing what gives other humans their paths to Love and Knowledge. Some humans are meant to show others their paths. And in that they secrete ways to profitably exist.Comment publication date: 3/18/26, 4:50 PMComment source: In memorium -- The Melon Man
