Alene Akins received her angel wings peacefully on December 4, 2020, in Sparks, Nevada.
Alene was born on December 24, 1931, in Keota, Oklahoma to Edgar and Floy Yocham.
Her parents brought her to California during the depression as a young girl and she lived in Ojai, California most of her life, before moving to Fallon, Nevada and finally ended up in Sparks, Nevada.
Alene worked at the Ojai Valley Inn for 35 years. She enjoyed cooking and entertaining her loved ones. She created and carried on several family traditions. She loved to travel and spend time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Edgar and Floy, husbands Bill Reed and Bill Akins, and brother J.C. Yocham.
Alene is survived by daughters Cheryl Schoenfeldt and Paula Lankau of Sparks, Nv. and son Ronnie Reed of Las Vegas, Nv.
She was blessed with 7 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She will be missed by them all.
Family, friends, and anyone whose life was touched by Alene are welcome to celebrate her life at Smith Family Funeral Home on Friday, December 11, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. With interment to follow in the Fallon Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home.
