In a deeply religious town of Ohio, over the span of Arvin’s young manhood, the film follows Arvin’s family, and the tragedies that strike along the way.
Arvin copes with reconciliation within religion, and his own personal demons. Along his journey, Arvin meets multiple preachers, a photographer, and a sheriff with similar problems. However, they all deal with vengeance and mourning in different ways.
The film, based on a novel, is a small-town thriller, that reveals the thoughts of people who are looking for a last resort of forgiveness and salvation.
