Alicia Keys has released a new album that gives fans both old and new sounds in the self titled, Alicia.
With artists featuring on her tracks like Miguel and Khalid, Keys is playing with tracks away from her stereotypical piano ballads. There are tracks that reach back to the 70s soul and funk, and even one that follows the rules of reggae.
If you do remember Alicia Keys in her early 2000s days, there are still a couple of those beautiful piano ballads for you, too.
With an album of 15 songs, Keys explores the poetry that made her popular, while also being able to experiment. With most songs ranging from three to four and a half minutes, there is also tan element of creativity in fitting long stories and pieces into shorter songs for a generation of people with shorter attention spans.
