About our Staff -- Susan Weikel, Education Editor

Susan Weikel came into this life in Winnemucca, Nevada and grew up on a ranch. She left Winnemucca to attend Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, and says, “What a shock that was!” She eventually finished her college education at the University of Nevada-Reno and spent 42 years in education, teaching everything from fifth grade to High School and then Adult Ed. She is the proud mother of three unique children and the very proud grandmother of four wonderful grandkids.
