Just Serve Opportunities Available

For those of us looking for a good place to help out -- check out the www.JustServe.org website for local community projects
Just Serve Opportunities Available

Just Serve has local projects needing your help and all you have to do is take a look at the website, www.JustServe.org, put in our zip code, and up comes a list of fun things you can do to help make our community a better place.

Currently Fallon Daily Bread is going to start serving a meal on Saturday and can use help. Volunteers will prepare food and get it ready for grab and go to those in need. If you can help, please click the link on the days you are available.

Volunteers are also needed at the Domestic Violence Intervention for occasional yard upkeep. This would include pulling weeds, spraying pre-emergent at different times of the year,  and other general upkeep. There is no grass, so there are no mowing needs. Volunteers may volunteer at their convenience, there is no set schedule. Volunteers may come every few weeks, or just one time. This would be a great project for a group to adopt.

JustServe.org is a website where the volunteer needs of organizations may be posted and volunteers may search for places to serve in the community, providing opportunities to help those in need and enhance the quality of life in the community. JustServe is a service to help link community volunteer needs with volunteers and does not discriminate based on race, religion, gender, ethnicity, or sexual orientation in posting projects or in encouraging volunteers to serve according to our guidelines

To find out more about Just Serve, or to list a project, contact Terra Koenig at 775-426-8024.

Comment author: Claude EzzellComment text: Paul was one of the most manifest men I have ever met. He was a good friends with my Dad and always had an entertaining story for the occasion. One of my most favorite stories Paul told dated back to the late 60s or early 70s and it revolved around him killing a deer way out in the mountains. Naturally the deer ran down into a deep canyon and died. Knowing that it would take him forever to haul it out he devised an awesome plan. After preparing the deer he drove back to NAS Fallon and rustled up a SAR crew and they flew out and picked up the deer. Of course it was labeled as a training flight but what the hell in those days you could do that sort of thing. Rest in Peace my friend until we meet again!!Comment publication date: 4/11/24, 1:15 PMComment source: Obituary - LCDR Paul N PflimlinComment author: THughesComment text: So sad to hear.
