Obituary -- Ernesto “Ernie” Alvarado Quiroz

Ernesto Quiroz -- August 30, 1964 to March 18, 2020
Obituary -- Ernesto “Ernie” Alvarado Quiroz

Ernesto Quiroz passed away on March 18, 2020 in Tucson, Arizona due to a genetic liver disorder. He was surrounded by his loving family.

Ernie was born in Morton Texas to Trinidad and Cruz Quiroz; he was the youngest of 13 children. The family then moved to Northern Nevada when he was 5 where he lived on many ranches and developed his love for the outdoors. The Quiroz family eventually settled in Fallon, Nevada. He had a passion for wrestling and graduated CCHS 1982 This is where Ernie made many friends that he was still in contact with until his death. He spoke with great respect in regard to his friends; he did so with only colorful language!!!! He later met the love of his life Tricia Quiroz and they had two sons Lorenzo and Esteban (Reyna).

Eventually Ernie and Tricia would move to Arizona to be with family. This is where Ernie achieved great feats within the construction field including but not limited to the U.S. Federal Courthouse, the University of Arizona’s Student Union and McKale Center, and Tucson Police Departments Crime Laboratory. When not doing construction work you could always find Ernie helping neighbors, or just a random stranger off the street.

He had a great love for all his family including his brothers and sisters who are still with us Lisa Allen, Ramon Quiroz, Sylvia Salazar, Yolanda Salazar, Pilar Gomez, and Roberto Quiroz, and his brother in laws and sister in laws, numerous nieces and nephews, and his Great Nieces, and Nephews. He was very close with his niece Mary Byrd who was like a sister to him and her husband Ed, he always looked to her for guidance and support. He is preceded in death by his parents Trinidad Quiroz and Cruz Quiroz Sr., his sibling: Joseph Quiroz, Dolores Quiroz, Cruz Quiroz Jr., Eluterio Quiroz, Jose Quiroz, Samuel Quiroz. Ernesto will be greatly missed by all his co-workers, family and especially is Wife and Sons.

Funeral Mass is scheduled for July 9, 2020 1pm Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Tucson AZ. Graveside service is scheduled for August 15, 2020 11am in Fallon, NV.

Due to COVID 19 and concern for protecting all who would wish to celebrate Ernie’s life, a reception will not be scheduled. A virtual book has been created, collecting your stories and memories will offer the family great comfort. Please visit www.gatheringus.com

We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
