Preliminary Results in Local Commission Races
Steve Ranson receives the preliminary results from Erin Montalvo at the county clerk's office tonight

Update June 11th, 3:25 p.m. -- Although the count will continue until June 16th, not much has changed in the County Commission races.

District 1 Rep primary -- Heath 1,864 to Scharmann 1,667

District 3 Dem primary -- Boone 405 to Kelly 728

District 3 Rep primary -- Casey, Mick 1,264 to Koenig 2,243

Fallon, Nev., -- While the primary election ended today, results from the mail in election will not be final for seven more days while the county clerk waits for ballots that may have been mailed-in and postmarked today, June 9th.

At this point in the reporting, in unoffical local results, newcomer to politics, Justin Heath is leading an upset in the race against incumbent Bus Scharmann for District 1, with 1,756 to 1,570 votes in the Republican primary.

In the Democrat primary for District 3, Kelli Kelly leads Keith Boone 693 to 392.

The Republican primary for District 3 between Mick Casey and Greg Koenig has Koenig in the lead witih 2,117 to 1,188.

Marion Jonte recieved 4,685 votes and will retain his seat on the Mosquito Abatement Board.

So far there have been 5,261 votes cast out of 14,835 registered voters for a total of 35.4% turnout.

As ballots are received over the next seven days, the county clerk will continue to release voter totals and we will continue to update this information. According to Erin Montalvo, of the clerk's office, statewide election results will not be available tonight due to the large number of voters who turned out today and lines experienced in Washoe and Clark Counties. We will report those preliminary results as they begin to come in, which is expected to happen on Thursday.
