E.C. Best teachers send a virtual message of support to their students -- the collage was created by Kaysee Golden

There is an insane amount of innovation happening in this community on behalf of the children and students at all schools. E.C. Best teachers sent a message to their students in hopes of encouraging them and letting them know how much they are missed.

Third grade teacher, Christine Mori said, “It is so hard to be away from them.” She said the third-grade team has been amazing. Teachers are in constant communication with each other, sharing all their resources. The school has passed out chrome books and are using Google Classroom and "goto meeting" to have live lessons with students. Teachers are also posting videos and using Class Dojo and Classtag to keep in contact with parents.

Teachers are also making phone calls to all parents to keep in touch and having staff mtgs each week online.

“We worry about them and miss them like crazy,” said Mori. “We are also so empathetic toward our parents and caregivers, and so grateful for food deliveries for our kids. Everyone is doing the best we can.”

Principal Keith Boone said, “The team message and picture really touches my heart. All the credit goes to Kaycee Golden on orchestrating everything with the picture. When I first saw the image, I got a little choked up because of the great work that our team is doing to create for kids and families at E.C. Best. The bottom line is that our students miss seeing their friends teachers and the same goes for all staff on our team.”

Comment author: Claude EzzellComment text: Paul was one of the most manifest men I have ever met. He was a good friends with my Dad and always had an entertaining story for the occasion. One of my most favorite stories Paul told dated back to the late 60s or early 70s and it revolved around him killing a deer way out in the mountains. Naturally the deer ran down into a deep canyon and died. Knowing that it would take him forever to haul it out he devised an awesome plan. After preparing the deer he drove back to NAS Fallon and rustled up a SAR crew and they flew out and picked up the deer. Of course it was labeled as a training flight but what the hell in those days you could do that sort of thing. Rest in Peace my friend until we meet again!!Comment publication date: 4/11/24, 1:15 PMComment source: Obituary - LCDR Paul N PflimlinComment author: THughesComment text: So sad to hear.
