Obituary -- Suzan Rebecca Wood Ballard Maccioni
Suzan Rebecca Wood Ballard Maccioni, age 65, passed away on February 26, 2020 after lengthy health issues. She was the wife of James Maccioni and they shared almost 25 years of marriage together. Suzan was born in Fallon, NV on March 6, 1954 to Robert Wood and Joy Standridge (Thomas) who have proceeded her in death. Sue spoke fondly of the many years she worked for the Senior Center as well as her time spent as an active Ladies Auxiliary member for the American Legion post 16 where she formed many long lasting friendships.   She will be remembered for her everlasting love for her dogs and the pride she expressed about her grandchildren- Renee Allred, Cadence Sparks, Ezra Sparks and Damon Sparks. Suzan is survived by not only her husband Jim, but her daughter Dawn (Dave) Hardin, her grandchildren Renee’, Cade, Ezra, and Damon, as well as her Brothers David Wood, Rick (Mary) Wood, nieces, nephews as well as many great friends. Suzan’s greatest heartbreak was the early death of her Son Raymond Sparks whom we know she is now showering with butterfly kisses and hugs as we read this. A Celebration of Life will be held on March 28, 2020 from 3:00 pm-6:00 pm at the American Legion in Fallon, NV.  Please feel free to stop in during this time.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to American Legion Ladies Auxiliary fund Post 16.         Sign up to receive updates and the Friday File email notices. We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
