The Churchill Arts Council will present Nate's World, a musical trio performing a mix of classical, country, jazz, opera, and folk music, Friday, Nov. 13, at 6 p.m. at the Barkley Theatre in Fallon.
The performance will feature Nathan Farrington, principal bass of LA Opera; pianist and composer Ahmed Alom; and percussionist Gabriel Globus-Hoenich.
The musicians draw from a wide range of musical traditions, including works by Mozart, Chopin, and George Gershwin, as well as songs associated with country music legend Hank Williams.
Unlike a traditional concert with a predetermined program, Nate's World is built around improvisation and spontaneity. The musicians announce selections from the stage as the evening unfolds, making each performance different.
In addition to the public concert, the trio will participate in an in-school residency, introducing local students to professional musicians and a variety of musical styles.
The performance will be held at the Barkley Theatre at Oats Park Art Center, 151 E. Park St. Tickets are $25 for general admission, $20 for Churchill Arts Council members, and $10 for youth and students. Tickets are available at churchillarts.org.
