Veritas Preparatory School celebrated its annual Grandparents’ Day on Friday, Oct. 23, honoring the role grandparents play in students’ lives and sharing a glimpse of the school’s Christian education.
The morning began with grandparents and parents attending classes with students. Families saw classroom lessons firsthand, and in many cases, adults participated in the activities.
After class, families gathered at Parkside Bible Fellowship for student presentations. Students in fifth through eighth grades opened the program by performing “Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee” on guitar.
Each class then gave a short presentation featuring classroom lessons or songs about grandparents. Mr. Springfield’s fourth-graders and Mrs. Felte’s third-graders presented a lesson on the Armor of God from Ephesians 6. Ms. Pustovrh’s fifth- and sixth-graders explained the symbolism of money. Younger students performed songs and recitations about the alphabet.
The program concluded with a salute to members of the armed services and a performance of the first-quarter school hymn, “A Mighty Fortress Is Our God.”
The celebration brought families together through classroom activities, music, and fellowship, reflecting the school’s emphasis on faith, family, and learning.
