Helen and Mike McKnight celebrated the soft opening of La Mère Breads & Bakes at 1410 Cedar Drive in Fallon on Oct. 17.
The business, a member of the Chamber of Commerce, specializes in sourdough bread, cookies, and scones made with organic ingredients. The bakery bakes twice a week, and customers are encouraged to preorder to ensure their selections are available.
The soft opening also featured gluten-free desserts from Deep Roots Bake Co., owned by Helen Shaw. Offerings included Belgian chocolate cake, cookies, and doughnuts.
According to information provided for the opening, the bakery is open Wednesdays and Saturdays from 3 to 5 p.m., or until sold out.
