The Fallon Theatre is changing its usual movie schedule for Halloween weekend to accommodate community festivities. A family-friendly animated double feature begins at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, and Saturday, Oct. 31. First is "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" (1966), the 25-minute classic featuring Linus waiting for the Great Pumpkin. It will be followed by "Scared Shrekless" (2010), a 26-minute Halloween adventure in which Shrek and his fairy-tale friends compete in a spooky storytelling contest at Lord Farquaad's haunted castle. Together, the two films offer nearly an hour of Halloween entertainment for all ages.

Before the weekend movies, the Fallon Theatre will welcome Performing Arts of Churchill County (PACC) for four performances of "The Haunted Schoolhouse." The one-hour, family-friendly musical features local youth performers. Showtimes are Thursday, Oct. 29, at 7 p.m., Friday, Oct. 30, at 7 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 31, at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Grab your seats early at www.paccnv.org and cheer on our community's young stars.

The Maine Street Spooktacular returns Saturday, Oct. 31, from 3 to 6 p.m. This free downtown celebration includes trick-or-treating, trunk-or-treating, bounce houses, pumpkin painting, a haunted house, local food, and music by DJ Todd Moretto. Jacques Magician will also entertain visitors throughout the afternoon. The event offers families an opportunity to enjoy Halloween activities before traditional trick-or-treating from 6 to 8 p.m.

Nashville stand-up comedian Lee Hardin of Dry Bar Comedy returns to the Fallon Theatre on Friday, Nov. 20, at 7 p.m. with his clean, family-friendly comedy. Tickets are $20, with a $5 early bird discount available through Oct. 30. A double date discount offers four tickets for the price of two.

Another holiday tradition returns Dec. 18 and 19, with "The Polar Express 4D Experience" at 6 p.m. both evenings, sponsored by Hiskett & Sons. The event includes a decorated winter-themed lobby, a free hot cocoa bar, themed treats, and a small gift for each child. Reservations are $5 per person, with proceeds benefiting the theater's Façade Restoration Fund. Seating is limited, and reservations are available through the theater's website or Facebook page.

Regular screenings of "The Polar Express" will also be offered at 7 p.m. both nights for those who prefer a traditional movie experience or cannot attend the 4D showings. These screenings include the free hot cocoa bar and a small gift for each child. No advance reservations are required.

The Fallon Theatre also offers sustaining memberships for those who want to support the historic venue while receiving concession benefits. Members may pay monthly or annually, with annual memberships providing one month free.

Individual memberships are $20 per month or $220 annually and include a medium soda and medium popcorn per visit, an $11 value. Couple's memberships are $25 per month or $275 annually and include two medium sodas and a large popcorn, a $16 value. Family memberships are $30 per month or $330 annually and include four medium sodas and a large popcorn, a $22 value. These benefits are available each time members attend a movie or event.

The Fallon Theatre is also available for private screenings, birthday parties, and personalized messages on its historic marquee. For reservations or information, contact 775-423-6210 or [email protected].

We can't wait to welcome you back to the movies!
