With the cool autumn air settling in, the Fallon Theatre remains a favored historic spot to gather with friends and neighbors for hometown fun and timeless entertainment. We are thrilled, as always, to host our community this season, so keep an eye out for our upcoming November and December schedules packed with exciting holiday traditions.
At 6 p.m. this Friday and Saturday, join us for Tim Burton’s animated holiday classic, “The Nightmare Before Christmas” (1993). Bored with the same old Halloween routine, Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King of Halloween Town, stumbles upon Christmas Town and decides to take over the holiday himself. With delightful music and a spooky yet heartwarming story, it’s the ultimate bridge between Halloween and Christmas cheer. Rated PG, it runs 1 hour and 16 minutes.
Or, at 7 p.m. both nights, step into the ultimate cult-classic movie experience with Jim Sharman's legendary musical comedy, “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” (1975). When sweethearts Brad and Janet get a flat tire on a stormy night, they seek shelter at the eerie castle of Dr. Frank-N-Furter, where they are swept into an unforgettable evening of wild songs and eccentric characters. Packed with hit singalongs like “Time Warp,” it remains one of the most interactive and beloved theater traditions of all time. While we won't be selling prop bags this year, you are more than welcome to bring your own fun props, but we ask that you please refrain from bringing any wet or overly messy items. Rated R, it runs 1 hour and 40 minutes.
Prior to our Halloween evening events, we are thrilled to welcome the Performing Arts of Churchill County (PACC) back to our historic stage for four live performances of “The Haunted Schoolhouse.” This delightful, one-hour family-friendly youth musical is packed with seasonal fun and talent from our community's young performers. Showtimes are Thursday, Oct. 29, at 7 p.m.; Friday, Oct. 30, at 7 p.m.; and Saturday, Oct. 31, at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Tickets are available now at www.paccnv.org, so be sure to grab yours early and support our local youth theater.
Then, coming up next weekend, one of our favorite Fallon traditions returns and this year it’s bigger, spookier, and better than ever. Join us downtown on Saturday, Oct. 31, from 3 to 6 p.m. for the Maine Street Spooktacular. Free to attend, this ultimate autumn block party features trick-or-treating, trunk-or-treating, bounce houses, pumpkin painting, a haunted house, tasty local food, and beats by DJ Todd Moretto. Plus, there will be a very special guest. Jacques Magician will be wandering the street, visiting with trick-or-treaters and performing mind-bending magic tricks all afternoon. If you or your organization would like to set up and pass out candy to our local ghosts and ghouls, contact Huck Salt at 775-423-2055 or [email protected] to reserve a spot.
In November, gear up for a night of pure laughter on Friday, Nov. 20, at 7 p.m. as clean, family-friendly stand-up comedy returns to the Fallon Theatre. We are thrilled to welcome Nashville-based comedian Lee Hardin (DryBar Comedy, The Mike Huckabee Show) back to our stage for an evening of warm, relatable humor the whole family can enjoy. Tickets are $20, but you can snag an early bird discount of $5 off until Oct. 31, or grab a double date discount to get four tickets for the price of 2. Grab your seats early and join us for a great night out right here in your favorite historic theater.
