Two 20-year-old men were arrested Thursday night, Oct. 15, following a vehicle pursuit that ended on Paiute Drive, where Churchill County Sheriff's Office deputies recovered suspected drugs, drug paraphernalia, and several weapons.

According to the Sheriff's Office, a deputy attempted to stop a vehicle without a license plate near Lovelock Highway and Airport Road at approximately 10:27 p.m. The driver fled along Airport Road, turned south onto Rio Vista, and then west onto Paiute Drive.

The vehicle stopped abruptly on the dirt portion of Paiute Drive, just east of Lovelock Highway, when other patrol vehicles confronted the driver.

The driver, Bryce Anderson, and passenger Aiden Anderson, both 20, fled on foot into a field north of the vehicle. Deputies located and arrested both men following a brief foot pursuit. An adult female passenger exited the vehicle but did not flee.

A search of the vehicle uncovered approximately 29.36 grams, gross weight, of suspected methamphetamine, a loaded hypodermic syringe containing a suspected controlled substance, five units of Suboxone without a prescription, and approximately 4.33 grams, gross weight, of marijuana possessed by a person under 21.

Deputies also recovered an electronic scale, new and used hypodermic needles, small baggies, and narcotic smoking devices. Weapons found in the vehicle included knives, hatchets, and a table leg with protruding nails.

Bryce Anderson was booked on charges of eluding or evading police, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, possession of a controlled substance greater than 28 grams but less than 42 grams, possession of a controlled substance less than 14 grams, possession of a dangerous drug without a prescription, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He also faces booking charges of driving without a valid driver's license, speeding 21-30 mph over the posted limit, operating an unregistered vehicle, and possession of marijuana, 10 ounces or less.

Bail on those charges totaled $48,155. Bryce Anderson was also booked on a Parole and Probation violation and is subject to a no-bail hold.

Aiden Anderson was booked on charges of resisting a public officer and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bail was set at $1,530.

Both bail amounts were verified on Oct. 19, and both men remained in custody as of Monday morning.

The identification of the suspected drugs is preliminary. Both men are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
