You have to feel for the Lowry High School volleyball team. The Buckaroos have played 20 matches this year and have been on their home floor just twice.
After a home match with South Tahoe just before Labor Day weekend, Lowry went back on the road for three straight weeks and six matches. The brutal stretch ended on Wednesday, Sept. 23, as Lowry traveled to Fallon for a Northern 3A East matchup. The Greenwave swept the Buckaroos 25-13, 25-16, 25-23. Lowry dropped to 0-3 in league play and 6-14 overall.
Emma Deputy knocked down five kills, with Tessa Jenkins adding four and Raegan Terry and Hazen Root three each. Peyton Anguiano added two kills.
Emelia Mentaberry, Jekins and Root each had six digs, Yareli Ojendiz, three and Finn Christean and Deputy two each. Root and Jenkins each finished with eight assists.
Lowry hosts Spring Creek on Friday, Oct. 2m, at 6 p.m., and Elko on Saturday, Oct. 3, at noon.
