Six Oasis Academy cross country runners posted personal best times at the Truckee Invitational last Saturday while the middle school team placed four runners in the top six at Yerington.
Coach Krista Smith said the Truckee Invitational is one of the toughest meets of the season, with more than 700 runners.
“Each week, I see our athletes persevere through adversity and emerge stronger. I’m excited to see what the remainder of the season holds as we work toward the Regional championships at the end of October,” Smith said.
In the varsity girls race at Truckee, Riley Davis finished 93rd in 24:16.
In the varsity boys race, Leonidas Arcoraci placed 150th in 21:44, Keagan Craig 180th (23:11), Elijah Jones 202nd (25:55) and Kamron Bracken 203rd (26:21).
In the JV boys race, Zayden Maynez finished 96th in 22:51, Connor Tolman 134th (24:31) and Tristan Bracken 175th (37:48). In the JV girls race, Sonora McInturff placed 105th in 33:19.
Oasis Academy returns to competition Saturday at the Leo Mikelonis Memorial Invitational hosted by Spanish Springs at Golden Eagle Park in Sparks, with the first race at 9 a.m.
