The Oasis Academy volleyball team mounted a resilient effort in its match in Yerington last Friday but ultimately fell to Yerington in straight sets, 25-20, 2508, 25-22. Despite a tough second set, the Bighorns refused to go down quietly pushing Yerington down to the wire in a hard-fought third set.
The Bighorns dropped to 1-7 in the Northern 2A and 2-11 overall. This week they were scheduled to play at Lovelock on Wednesday, then this weekend they host North Tahoe at 5 p.m. Friday and Coral Academy at noon Saturday.
"The girls have been putting in the work and making a lot of adjustments together as a team,’ coach Jalana Bell said. “I can't wait to see the work that they have putting in with new lineups and rotations come into play as a team this week."
