Lahontan Conservation District Poster Winners

Christy Sullivan, district clerk of the Lahontan Conservation District recently had the opportunity to teach the Numa Elementary 5th grade science class the importance of soil.  She then asked the student to make a poster on what soil meant to them. "The turn out for the contest was amazing," she said and at the Conservation District board meeting last week, where the winners of the contest were recognized.

Sullivan said that the posters were forwarded to the October 22 -24  NvACD (Nevada Association of Conservation Districts) 2019 Annual Meeting in Winnemucca. Three students won 1st, 2nd and 3rd place at the State level and one student poster will be going to NACD (National Association of Conservation District) to be judged on the National level.

Sullivan also reported that it was announced at the State Conference that Lyle de Braga, who served as the chairman for many years on the Stillwater Conservation District board received the Memorial Recognition Award.                                                                                           Support local, independent news – contribute to The Fallon Post, your non-profit (501c3) online news source for all things Fallon. We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
