DVI Fundraiser to Support Local Survivors of Family Violence

Domestic Violence Intervention Inc. will hold its first “A Guiding Light Fundraiser to End Family Violence” on Saturday, Oct. 3, with proceeds supporting services for survivors in Fallon, Fernley, and surrounding communities.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. at the Fallon Eagles Hall, 7977 Reno Highway. The evening will include a seated dinner, raffles, and a silent auction. Guests may choose tri-tip, chicken, or four-cheese lasagna.

DVI provides crisis intervention, emergency shelter and motel assistance, help with temporary protection order applications, court accompaniment, peer counseling, support groups, and a 24-hour crisis line. Board member April Chester said the organization assisted approximately 2,500 people in the Fallon and Fernley areas last year.

The nonprofit relies on grants and donations to continue that work. Money raised through dinner tickets, raffles, and the silent auction will help DVI provide services to local survivors of domestic and family violence.

Tickets are $45 per person or $240 for a table for six. Tickets may be purchased by scanning the QR code or by calling the DVI office at 775-423-1313. The office is located at 37 S. Maine St. in Fallon.
