Caleb Andrew Tomko, 34, of Fallon, died Tuesday, September 15, 2026, as a result of injuries sustained in a single-car collision.
Caleb was born May 23, 1992, in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, to Jeffrey and Kelli Tomko, and lived in Exeter, New Hampshire, until he was 12, when the family moved to Louisville, Colorado. He graduated from Louisville High School and attended both Front Range Community College and Metropolitan State University of Denver. He moved to Fallon, Nevada, in March 2020.
Despite the demons he fought, Caleb had a good heart. Friends describe him as kind, hardworking, and always willing to lend a hand, even to a stranger. He had no children of his own, but he loved kids and spent time with friends’ children. He loved animals and easily befriended the pets of people he knew.
While he held a variety of occupations, Caleb loved to cook and often threw together impromptu meals for family and friends. He held jobs in many kitchens, from diners to family restaurants, including fine-dining kitchens at country clubs and upscale hotels.
Caleb is survived by his mother, Kelli Heitstuman-Tomko, of Fallon; his father, Jeffrey Tomko, and his brother, Jared Tomko, of Scottsdale, Arizona; his sister, Bette Tomko, of Broomfield, Colorado; his grandmother, Karen Heitstuman, of Fallon; his aunt, Karri Raymond, and her husband, Doug Raymond, of Fernley; his aunt, Kate Dobson, of Dallas, Texas; his grandfather, Andrew Tomko, and his uncle, Scott Tomko, of Thornton, Colorado; his aunt, Natasha Tomko, of Orlando, Florida; and various cousins in the United States and Spain. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Judith Tomko, and his grandfather, John Heitstuman.
His friends will hold a memorial potluck for Caleb at Krab Kingz, 40 E. Center St., in Fallon on October 14, 2026, from 10 a.m. to noon. Instead of flowers, donations to his funerary fund so his family can take his ashes to New Hampshire, where he wished to be, would be appreciated. A jar will be available for those donations.
